UPDATE: Ener-Core and Attero convened Market Insider Education Event on April 3rd in the Netherlands

Apr 8, 2014

IRVINE, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ENER-CORE, INC. (OTCQB: ENCR), whose proprietary Gradual Oxidation technology and equipment generates clean electric power from low quality and waste gases, is pleased to announce that it worked with the Attero executive team and EECT-Turbomachinery to jointly host a Market Insider Education event in the Netherlands on Thursday, April 3rd.

Attero is the largest waste management company in the Netherlands, and is deploying this technology on one of its inactive (capped) landfills with relatively weak gas, enabling it to provide electricity and generate revenue from this type of landfill for at least another decade, rather than flare or vent these weak gases.

The half-day event was held at Attero's Schinnen landfill; it attracted over 70 waste-industry and energy-industry experts from across Europe, and granted the special guests with a VIP-style opportunity to observe the unveiling of the operational one-of-a-kind powerstation, prior to its formal inauguration scheduled to take place in May.

Jean Wilbers, manager New Business Development of Attero commented: "All of us are pleased to be the European pioneer in the utilization of low-quality waste gases to produce clean, renewable power.  The installation of the Ener-Core powerstation has been completed successfully on the closed landfill in Schinnen.  Attero maintains ten more inactive landfills in the Netherlands, where the gas quality is becoming too low for energy production with traditional engines.  So, rather than wasting these gases with a flare, we will now be analyzing the possibility of utilizing these gases for energy production with an Ener-Core powerstation."

Ener-Core's CEO, Alain Castro, commented: "The power generation solution that Ener-Core is now deploying into the market represents a multi-billion dollar opportunity, as this enables a wide range of industries to utilize their waste gases to profitably generate power, while also reducing their air emissions.  Our team has worked hard over many years to arrive at this point, where our technology is stable, reliable and ready for mass deployment.  On April 3rd, we hosted a half-day, in-depth educational event for some of the most respected experts in our target markets.  This event with Attero was crucial for us, as it allowed us to explain the physics behind this new technology, demonstrate the operational unit, and overcome the sense of mystery or doubt that is commonplace when deploying a new technology into the energy sector."

About Ener-Core, Inc.
Ener-Core designs and manufactures innovative systems for producing continuous energy from a broad range of sources, including previously unusable ultra-low quality gas.  The Ener-Core Gradual Oxidizer, our patented oxidation technology, enables the conversion of these gases into useful heat and power with the lowest known associated emissions. With the Ener-Core Gradual Oxidizer matched to gas turbines, Ener-Core offers systems with fuel flexibility and pollution control for power generation. The Gradual Oxidizer can also be customized for integration with larger existing power generation systems to offer unparalleled pollution control and achieve zero emissions.

Ener-Core has developed the 250kW Ener-Core Powerstation FP250 ("FP250"), and its larger counterpart, the 2MW Ener-Core Powerstation KG2-3G/GO, to transform methane gas, especially "ultra-low-Btu gas" from landfills, coal mines, oil fields and other low quality methane sources into continuous clean electricity with near-zero emissions. The Powerstations are specifically engineered for fuel flexibility and modularity, so that these low-Btu gas sources can be used as an energy resource instead of wasted through venting and/or flaring.

With dedication, deep expertise, and broad energy experience, Ener-Core serves several markets globally, including oil fields, biogas, coal mines, natural gas, emissions control, and utility power generation.  For more information, please visit the Ener-Core website: ener-core.com.
